Ken McCracken, B.Acc.,CA Director/Partner

Ken graduated from Glasgow University with an accountancy degree and obtained a CA training contract with KPMG in Glasgow, qualifying in 1988 with promotions from Audit Assistant to Senior, Supervisor, Assistant Manager and Manager. He was also ‘director of studies’ for CA students and involved in student recruitment and manager/partner training. He joined JRD Partnership as a manager in 1992, became a partner in 1997 and Managing Partner/Director in 2016. Ken is a principal in all three JRD entities, the Senior Statutory Auditor (JRD LLP) and is a highly motivated professional with a wide variety of sector experience and skills (audit, accountancy, taxation and general advisory). He has a specific interest and knowledge of the charity/not for profit and music/entertainment sectors as well as expertise in many aspects of client services to SME’s.

Graham Love, BA, CA Associate Director

Graham graduated from Glasgow Caledonian University with an accountancy degree and obtained a CA training contract with Smith Inglis & Co (originally GW MacGregor & Co) in Hamilton, qualifying in 1994, and subsequently gained significant experience in a number of disciplines. Graham then developed his management experience with the mid-tier national firm, Baker Tilly in Glasgow, for a year before joining Lockhart Business Advisory Ltd in 2009 as Associate Director. He spent 5 years there, obtaining valuable systems development and general advisory skills before joining JRD Partnership in 2014 as Associate Director. Graham manages JRD’s main accountancy and taxation services and personally deals with a large portfolio of small business clients. He also runs our own accounts/payroll functions and liaises with our IT support and key software suppliers.

Gillian Morton, BA,CA Cloud Accounting Supervisor and Audit/Charities Technical Support

Gillian graduated from Glasgow Caledonian University with an accountancy degree, while also developing a strong foundation in accountancy skills with her family company, obtaining a post-graduate training contract with JRD Partnership in 2001. She later commenced a CA training contract with the firm, qualifying in 2007. Gillian has strong accountancy, taxation and VAT skills and also provides technical support to our charities/audit team. She has significant knowledge of many accounting software systems – IRIS (our primary operating system), Sage Line 50 and a number of cloud accounting systems (including SAGE Business Cloud, Xero and Quickbooks) and other bespoke client systems. Gillian’s cloud accounting supervisor post was created due to her relevant skills and experience, the ‘digitalisation’ of business generally and HMRC’s ‘Making Tax Digital’ programme.

Jane Miller Tax & Database Supervisor

Jane has over 25 years’ experience working in the accountancy and tax sector having originally trained with J F Miller & Co in Ayr before joining the ‘mid-tier’ international firm BDO in 2005. She joined JRD Partnership as a tax senior in 2009 and was promoted to Tax & Database Supervisor in 2018. Jane supervises the tax team and deals with a portfolio of our more complex private and business tax clients, across varied business sectors and charity/not for profit tax clients, and has strong technical tax knowledge and a high attention to detail. She has used the firm’s primary IRIS operating software for a number of years and has extensive knowledge of this and related systems knowledge. In addition, Jane deals with various IRIS database projects, both in respect of clients and the firm’s own requirements.

Lorraine Blair Payroll/Dalry Office Manager

Lorraine started in industry during 1984 as administrative assistant with an Ayrshire based group which had a workforce of over 100 employees She progressed to the position of Finance & Payroll manager, before joining JRD Partnership in 2008 to run our Dalry office and significant portfolio of agricultural sector clients. Following the restructuring of our payroll operations in 2018, involving a relocation of the payroll bureau base to the Dalry office, Lorraine was given management responsibility for payroll and pensions client services and has a part ownership in JRD Partnership (Payroll Bureau) Ltd. This restructuring also coincided with the significant growth of our payroll client base, the introduction of GDPR (data protection) and the global pandemic which created a major demand for payroll services, with the introduction of the ‘furlough’ scheme and other business support grants.
