Payroll Bureau Services

We have over 30 years’ experience of carrying out payroll related services, initially as an additional service to a large client who had decided to outsource its payroll which then grew into a full payroll bureau service to employer clients.

The payroll business was transferred to a separate legal entity during 2017, reflecting growth, personnel changes and the impact of both recent and impending legislative changes (Real Time Information, Workplace Pensions and GDPR).

The payroll function transferred from Kilmarnock to Dalry office during 2017 and went ‘paperless’ from the start of the 2019/20 fiscal year. The manager was already set-up to work remotely prior to the pandemic, with all personnel moving to a remote working model prior to the start of the first ‘lockdown’ in March 2020. We were able to react immediately and assist our clients in exceptionally difficult circumstances with ‘furlough scheme’ and other COVID grant support.

The core business is a full outsourced payroll bureau and pensions administration service and we also carry out the following work:

  • Assistance with payroll related payments.
  • CIS processing – subcontractor payments/tax and offset of tax deducted by contractors.
  • Employer related grant claims assistance.
  • Ad-hoc work (eg holiday cover for client in-house payroll).
  • General guidance on systems, software and HR matters (we do not provide formal HR or employment law advice but can refer clients to appropriate specialists).
  • Assistance with HMRC enquiries into client payroll tax related matters.

We act as payroll bureau agent and it is the client’s responsibility, as employer, to ensure compliance with employment law, pensions and payroll tax related legislation – suggested links:

We do not provide an HR service – client employers are responsible for recruitment, employee contracts and maintaining employment records (including holidays, illness and other leave). We use a secure portal for uploading and downloading confidential payroll data. Clients who prefer not to use this format, do so at their own risk in terms of data protection. The portal is not a data storage system – clients should keep their own records as legally required.
